The Horrors - Bournemouth BIC
Never been a Horrors fan until I heard their recent album Skying, which won album of the year at the NME Awards a few weeks ago. It's been on constant repeat, with the track Still Life standing out for me, amazing tune. So when I turned up to shoot the Florence And The Machine gig at the Bournemouth BIC I was thrilled to see that the Horrors were the support act. Really happy how the shots came out and the lighting was really good for a support act.

The Maccabees - Southampton Guildhall
After hearing the Maccabees album earlier on this year I couldn't wait to shoot the gig for Ilikemusic. Its always nice to shoot in your hometown too, the gig was great and managed to get ok shots from the production they had. Think they will go on to bigger things for sure.

Laura Marling - Southampton Guildhall
This was the second time that I had shot Laura Marling, the first time being at the Wedgewood Rooms in Portsmouth which is a really small venue so it was good to see her on a bigger stage and with better production. I'm really into her music so was happy to get commissioned by ilikemusic to shoot the show. Laura doesn't not move around the stage that much so it was a challenge to get shots that were different to the other snappers that were there, pretty happy how everything came out.

Pioneer RMX - 1000 Advert - Feat James Zabiela
If you follow me on here and know my work, you will know that I shoot alot for Pioneer. Last week the company announced a new product - the RMX-1000 controller, which is an effects and sampling station. I have to be honest I have not really had a play with it properly, but what I saw it's an amazing piece of kit. The shoot with James Zabiela was done in a studio and was edited together in post after wards with one of my Ibiza club images. I must admit I am very happy how this has turned out and think the creative guys have done a great job on this. I have also linked below the product film, which features loads of artists inc James Zabiela, Chuckie, Laidback Luke, Doorly, Kissy Sellout and Kutski showing what the RMX-100 can do.
Kaiser Chiefs - Portsmouth Guildhall
I left this gig on my computer for a few weeks before I edited it, due to having no time and thinking the shots were not that great. After going through them I think it wasn't that bad after all. This was the first time that I had shot the Kaiser Chiefs and I'd heard they put on a good show. For me I was a bit disappointed with the lighting production on the night, all blue for most of the first 3 songs which was a shame as would have liked to got more variety with the shots. I decided to edit some to black and white which works well on some of them for sure. The Kaisers on the night had so much energy and they rocked Portsmouth Guildhall, hopefully next time not as much blue lighting!
Don't think the band like Leeds Utd Chairman Ken Bates that much |
