Chase And Status DVD Cover

At the end of 2011, I shot the Chase and Status gig at Bournemouth BIC. The label loved the shots and have chosen one of them to be used for the cover if the band's new live DVD, which was shot at Brixton Academy. Really happy how it looks and check out the trailer below, it looks amazing. The DVD out beginning of April.

Florence And The Machine - Bournemouth BIC

This has to be one of my favourite gigs that I have covered. I was commissioned by Ilikemusic to shoot the first date of the sell out  Florence And The Machine tour at the Bournemouth BIC. I am a big fan of Florence Welch and was really looking forward to covering the show. She did not disappoint, fantastic live, amazing stage presence and great production. I had a problem actually editing the pics down as there were so many good shots. So this post has more images that I normally post and I hope you like them. If you get a chance to see her live do it it!!!!!

The Wombats - Portsmouth Guildhall

This is definitely not my sort of music, but when commissioned by ilikemusic to shoot the gig I wanted to cover it as I have not shot that much live this year and feel a bit rusty. Overall it was a pretty good night, lighting was OK.  There were lots of blue LEDs for the first song, which isn't always great but for the rest of the gig it was all good. 

The Wombats were great live and the crowd were rowdy and loving it. I don't normally shoot the crowd whist the band is on but this time I did and got a glass of beer in my face, OK it was not a full pint but enough for me to miss half a song to clean the lens and camera. Surprised when got home and saw an image of the beer coming towards me over the crowd, in the end quite happy with that :)

Rubbish shot only reason its in is that I am on the screen behind!!!!!!

Smiler - Mixtape Cover Shoot

In January I did a press shoot with Hip Hop artist Smiler, the shoot went really well and one of the images has been used for his new mixtape album "All I Know" His track with Lana Del Rey "Spender" features on the album and I have attached it below so you can have a listen. The album is out on February 28th

Sway - Level Up Single Cover Artwork

Was great to see that another image from the shoot with Sway that I did back in 2011 being used for his new single cover "Level Up" Its going to be released on 3 Beat on April 2nd.

Justice - Q Magazine Article

In the last week before Christmas I was really happy to get the commission from Q Magazine to shoot French electronic music duo Justice for the mag's "The Soundtrack Of My Life" article. It was really interesting to hear what tracks had been an influence on their lives. Gaspard and Xavier were really cool guys and my only wish is that I could have more time with them.  The article is in the current issue of Q Magazine.

Snow Patrol - Bournemouth BIC

This was my first live gig of the 2012, so felt a little bit rusty. I was commissioned by Ilikemusic to photograph the show at the Bournemouth BIC, which is always great venue to shoot in. I have always liked Snow Patrol's music, so it was a gig that I was looking forward to covering.

I have to say though it definitely was not the easiest gig to ease me back into shooting live. The lighting was all over the place during the the first 2 songs and it was hard to photograph lead singer Gary Lightbody whist he was singing as he held the mic so close to his mouth all the time (getting horrible shadows), but enough of the moaning (it is the first gig of the year so I am allowed)!! In the end pretty happy how it all turned out and I think I managed to get some good images. The band were great live and the crowd were loving it. All in all a good night and can't wait to shoot some more gigs in the next few weeks, so look out for more posts.
