Oasis – Wembley Stadium

I got a photo pass through ilikemusic and could not wait to get down to Wembley. As a massive Oasis fan I was so looking forward to doing this job. Especially with Kasabian and The Enemy on the bill. Was great to see the band back at Wembley, I went back in 2001 when they last played there and that rocked.

Had a great shoot through out the evening and am very happy with the images especially of Oasis, Liam was on top form.  I have found out that the shots will be used on the Pretty Green website, which is Liam’s new clothing range. So really happy about that.

Paul Oakenfold and Lenny Kravitz @ Brixton Academy

I have not seen Paul Oakenfold for a long time. The last few years he has moved over to LA and has spent most of his time working on film scores, supporting some of the worlds biggest music artists (Madonna, U2 etc) and holding down a residency in Las Vegas. On this occasion he was supporting Lenny Karvitz at Brixton Academy. I was commissioned again from Pioneer to photograph Paul, as he was using all Pioneer equipment.

I managed to get a pass to shoot him on the stage, which was great as I got some great shots of him using the kit. He was using DVDs as well as normal cads player and had a custom made booth, which had visual screens on the front.

Then I stayed around and got some great pics of Lenny Kravitz for the site Ilikemusic. He rocked as soon as he came on stage. Was a great gig and the crowd was really up for it.

Global Underground - NU Breed Sultan

After the success of the Jim Rivers Nu Breed release in the spring, I was really happy that Global Underground commissioned me to photograph the follow up release with Canadian DJ Sultan providing the mix this time. As you can see from the pics he had a distinctive look and was great to photograph. The album is out on Global Underground and is released at the end of the summer.

Ed Friction IDJ Cover

I got a call from the guys at Shogan Records in Brighton to see if I could come down and photograph label head honcho and one of the best drum and bass DJs in the country Ed Friction. I have worked with Ed before so it was easy to get a good shot. The photographs would be used for an IDJ Magazine article and a cover shot. We did the shoot in the club Digital on Brighton seafront.  I am very happy how the cover has come out, a bit moodier than I have had in the past (which is good).

Who The Hell Is Juan Kidd!!!!

I was commissioned to photograph some new press pics for an artist called Juan Kidd. The whole shoot was about not really showing who he is.  Was happy with the out come from the shoot and we had a great day shooting in Stu Stu Studio and on location around the embankment area.  Juan has been busy in the studio and has an album coming out soon on CR2 records.

Mark Knight M8 Cover

As you have seen in older blogs that I did the new press photographs for Mark Knight. One of the pics from the shoot was used for the cover of the new M8 Magazine. It’s always amazing to get your photograph on the cover and I have been lucky to have a few in the past. Still get a buzz walking into newsagents and seeing it on the shelf!!!!

Space Opening Ibiza 2009

This has to be one of my favorite shoots that I do all year.  The spectacle that is Space Opening in Ibiza has to be seen to be believed. Over 15,000 people, 17 hours of mayhem, the biggest names in electronic music and a real pleasure to photograph. I was working for Pioneer once again and we have started compiling images for the new 2010 calendar, which I am really excited about.

I also used the 5D Mark II to shoot some HD film of the event. I have to say that the camera is unbelievable and I am so happy how the pics and vids are coming out. We will have a video to go with the calendar too, which will be posted online later in the year.
