Valerie June - Southampton Guildhall

I don't normally blog a support act, but Valerie June was amazing! She supported Jake Bugg at Southampton Guildhall and her mix of blues, folk and roots music blew me away and she was great to photograph. Check her out on iTunes if you can :)

Jake Bugg - Southampton Guildhall

This is the second time I have shot Jake in 5 months. The last time was at the Portsmouth Wedgewood Rooms, which is a much smaller venue, so was excited to photograph him in a larger space. I am really into Jake's sound and his album has been constant repeat in the studio. I can't believe he is only 18 (I feel old). The gig was amazing with good lighting too and I'm really happy how the images came out :)

Kaiser Chiefs - Southampton Guildhall

It was only a year ago that I shot the Kaiser Chiefs just down the road at the Portsmouth Guildhall, they were wicked. So it was great when I got the commission from Ilikemusic to shoot them again, this time in my home town. As ever they had so much energy and put on an amazing show, wish the lighting could have been better, but pretty happy what I got.

Paloma Faith - Portsmouth Guildhall

I have always wanted to photograph a Paloma Faith show as I heard she was great live and always puts on an amazing performance. It definitely disappoint she was superb!  The only moan I had is that we were only allowed to shoot song 2 and 3 and if we had got the first song she came out in an amazing costume with lots of mirrors, it looked crazy - she took it off after that :(

Anyway really happy how these came out and if you have yet to see her live I suggest you go and do it.
